You have the capacity to create a life that you would truly love.
You can be the master of your fate, the captain of your ship, and the director of your destiny. How?
By setting goals and objectives that are truly congruent with what you value most and where you are most authentic.
Here’s why:
Every individual, including you, lives by a unique hierarchy of values, a set of priorities that determines what is most to least important in life.
When your objectives are aligned with your highest values, you tend to act spontaneously and be more disciplined, reliable, and intrinsically driven to follow through.
On the other hand, when those goals are not aligned with what is truly most important to you, you are more likely to procrastinate, hesitate, and frustrate in pursuit of those goals. You may also find that you require external motivation before taking action, and experience increasing levels of self-doubt and uncertainty.
When you live congruently with your highest values, your efficiency and effectiveness tend to increase. Achievement rises, fulfillment expands, and your sense of purpose, meaning, and inspiration deepens.
Your self-worth also rises, because self-worth is a reflection of how congruently you are living with what you value most.
Your authentic self revolves around what is highest on your values.
If you tell me what is most important to you at any moment in time, I can tell you who you are in that moment. As your values evolve, your identity also evolves. Your greatest achievements, creativity, and ability to co-fashion your life the way you would love it to be, tend to be maximized when you live congruently with what you value most.
This is also why identifying what is truly most important to you plays such a crucial role in great achievement.
Anytime you set goals that are aligned with your highest values and you achieve them, your self-worth tends to rise and gratitude often follows. When goals are not truly aligned, as I mentioned earlier, procrastination, hesitation, and frustration are more likely to show up.
Doubt and uncertainty also tend to increase, as does the need for external or extrinsic motivation.
Note: Motivation is not a solution, it is rather wise to see the need for motivation as a symptom - it commonly reflects an attempt to be someone you are not, instead of being authentic to who you truly are (this is where you have intrinsic drive from within, rather than requiring outer motivation driving your actions).

If you would love to master the ability to drive creativity, and innovation and design your life, it is wise to step back and look at when you have felt most fulfilled in your life. In my experience, those moments are often linked to doing something that serves other people and that makes a difference – sharing and teaching.
When that occurs, you tend not to simply react to circumstances but instead you’re inspired to actively shape your life, building something meaningful, and that tends to be deeply fulfilling.
I have been master planning my life since I was 17 years old, and I am now 71, so I have been doing this for quite some time. Over the years, I have been fortunate to create much of what I set out to do. Because of that, it would be difficult to convince me that you cannot design your life.
As I often say, you can live by design, or you can live by the expectations and duties of others. In my experience, one tends to be far more fulfilling than the other.
When you take the time to set goals that are aligned and congruent with your highest values, blood, glucose and oxygen tend to move into the forebrain, activating the medial prefrontal cortex, the executive centre of the brain. This is the part of the brain involved in strategic planning, mitigating risk, and thinking ahead with foresight. In that state, you tend to act spontaneously, without needing reminders or external motivation to get things done because you are inspired from within.
You may feel that what you are doing reflects who you are. You feel called to it. You can see it clearly in your mind’s eye, articulate it to others, write it down, map it out, and plan it with foresight rather than hindsight. As such, you are more likely to achieve what you intend.
The Rule of Empowerment:
Any area of your life you don’t empower, you’re likely going to be overpowered in. If you don’t empower yourself in business, you’ll be told what to do. If you don’t empower yourself mentally, you’ll be told what to think. If you don’t empower yourself financially, you’ll be told what you’re worth. If you don’t empower yourself in your relationships, you’ll find yourself doing things around the house that you don’t want to do. If you don’t empower yourself socially, you’ll be told whatever misinformation campaigns and mass-media distortions are circulating. If you don’t empower yourself physically, you’ll be told what drugs to take and what organs to remove. And if you don’t empower yourself spiritually, you’ll likely subordinate to some form of dogma instead of living an inspired life based on meaning and love.

I was blessed to be involved in a film called How Thoughts Become Things. You may also remember The Secret from about twenty years ago, which touched on the power of thought in creating outcomes. I also wrote a book called You Can Have an Amazing Life in Just 60 Days, because I truly believe that if you apply principles and methodologies that stand the test of time, you can create an amazing life.
Some people think you need emotional turmoil to be creative, or that you need to suffer in order to create. You don’t. Intense emotional reactions tend to distract you from maximizing your creativity. When you’re highly polarized, impulsive, instinctual, and caught in constant cycles of seeking and avoiding, your creativity will tend to drop. In fact, you’re most likely to be creative when you’re inspired, grateful, loving what you’re doing, enthusiastic, certain, and very present with something that’s clear, meaningful, and mapped out.
That’s why I encourage writing your objectives down, clarifying them, and getting them so clear that there’s no question about what you’re setting out to do.
Then prioritizing your life, delegating lower-priority tasks to others, focusing on what’s highest on your values, and taking action.
If Elon Musk can work toward going to Mars, it’s worth reflecting on what becomes possible when you commit to something meaningful and stay with it.
You build incremental momentum when you set goals that are truly congruent with what you value most. You don’t stop. You’re persistent. You feel it’s almost impossible not to fulfill what you’re setting out to do. When you’re on track with who you really are, inspiration tends to follow, and there is a confirmation of authenticity taking place. Those moments become guides that let you know you’re moving in the direction of what’s truly most important to you, your authentic expression.
I firmly believe that you’re here to be a creator. In fact, you are creative - your genius is already there. It may be dormant and you may not have recognized it yet, but it will become apparent when you live congruently with your highest values. Why? Because that’s where you’re spontaneously inspired to act, where you are less likely to need motivation, and where your dedication and resilience is strongest. In my own life, that’s been in the area of teaching. I’ve been teaching for over fifty years, and I love it. That’s what I do every day, and that’s where my creativity has been most fully expressed.
You have that same capacity. Whatever is highest on your values is where your creativity is expressed.
That’s why I encourage you to go to my website and complete the Demartini Value Determination Process (there’s no charge to do so), and get clear about what’s really important to you. Then ask yourself, what are the highest priority actions I can take today to make that real? And how can I serve ever greater numbers of people by doing that? When you do, you tend to experience the reward of doing what you love and being compensated for it. Your vocation becomes your vacation. You don’t experience Monday-morning blues, Wednesday hump days, or waiting for Friday to escape your week. You can’t wait to get up in the morning and be of service, and people can’t wait to receive what you offer.
You’re a creator. Create your life the way you would love it to be.

That’s one of the reasons I teach the Breakthrough Experience and the Master Planning program – to help people take command of their lives, design their futures, and live with intention.
In conclusion, at the end of your life, you may find yourself asking a simple question: “Did I do everything I could with everything I was given?”
Your answer will reflect whether you took the time to clarify what was meaningful to you and commit to it during the course of your life.
As an example, when I was seventeen, I dreamt of travelling the world and teaching. So, I took the time to map out that goal, and I live it. It’s what I’m doing right now – in my home on a ship, travelling and teaching, and sharing these principles around the world.
I believe you can do the same. When you prioritize your life according to your highest values, set goals that are congruent and aligned to those values, and take incremental steps toward what truly matters to you, you’ll tend to find that momentum naturally builds in that direction.
You are a creator. Your life is yours to design. It is wise to give yourself permission to live authentically, to act on what is most meaningful, and to express that creative potential that has been there all along.
