A-Z Challenge & Benefits

Wisdom is Seeing Both Sides

Below are submissions from people regarding some of the benefits they experienced as a result of this perceived challenge:

I was quarrelsome

I finally spoke up about all the things that I had wanted to say and as a result we made some changes that I am pleased with

Some people supported me and gave me advice on how to manage my frustration

I released some steam and tension

I got to reevaluate what is important to me and why I am doing what I am doing

I gained perspective on some items I have been suppressing

People challenged me back and I realized that I was projecting my values and not taking time to take into consideration their reality

It helped me to set realistic expectations on people

I realized that I cannot pick on people who don't allow me to which made me realize that when people quarrel with me it is my own disempowerment

They were quarrelsome

It made me define my boundaries and stand up for myself

Got out in the open a lot of unsaid business which was great as it allowed us to reformat our relationship

I was supported by friends and family

I ended up going to the party on my own and having so much more fun than I would have had if they had been there. I also realized that I can handle on my own in a social situation without them

I got to spend time on my own

I went to see a fantastic movie and realized I don't need to depend on them for my entertainment

I laid down the rules in the house and as a result my children are now respecting me

I learnt how to moderate the situation

I learnt to listen to what they were really saying and to humble myself enough to acknowledge that i had heard them which diffused the situation altogether

I learnt not to take their moods so personally which has helped me to be less reactive to what is going on in the outer world. I am more in control of my moods if I don't allow others to determine how I feel
